Kenneth M. Hesser
Education, Honors, and Academic Achievements
Mr. Hesser was born in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1975. He attended Penn State University where he received degrees in both Political Science and Media Studies in 1997. Mr. Hesser then attended Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he obtained a Juris Doctorate in 2000. Mr. Hesser spent his final year of law school in Gainesville studying at the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Mr. Hesser practices in the fields of bankruptcy, employment, and workers’ compensation law. Prior to forming Schatt & Hesser, PA with his longtime colleague in Ocala, Ted Schatt, Ken worked for eight years with Daniel L. Hightower, PA in Ocala, representing nearly a thousand clients, filing hundreds of Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, and arguing in more than 25 workers’ compensation final hearings. Mr. Hesser is eligible for board certification in workers’ compensation, is a published author in the field, and has spoken at multiple legal education seminars for both attorneys and non-lawyers.
Professional Associations, Memberships, and Affiliations
Ken has an extensive record of involvement in the community. In 2009, he received the Richard Custureri Pro Bono Service Award for his contributions to assisting low income residents in need of legal assistance. Mr. Hesser has been married to his wife, Jennifer, since 2000. He is an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State football fan. He also enjoys running half marathons and film.
Mr. Hesser has been recognized as a Super Lawyer “Rising Star” since 2010, and is an officer with DR Smith American Inns of Court in Ocala. He also serves on the Stewardship Committee at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gainesville.
